So since im so excited and ready to start, and my appointment isnt till the Mar 21 i decided to start doing some healthy changes today.

Today i am 280lbs

No more sugar, bread, rice, starchy vegetables, pasta etc.

This is huge cause there goes 3/4 of the foods i eat.

@Monikareigh - You are about where I was 13 months ago. At the end of March/beginning of April 2016, I was 271.5 and 5'3". Today, I'm 190 and headed to 150. I feel like a new person. I'm going to offer some tips from my journey:

Protein - is what is going to keep you from getting hungry. Try to eat 90-100 grams of protein a day.

Carbs - limit your carbs, but don't cut them completely. While you are "waiting" for your appointment, do something like Atkins.

I start each day with a protein shake - 1 cup coconut milk, 1 scoop protein powder and about 1 cup of frozen fruit. Throw it in the blender. Its under 200 calories about 25 grams of protein and keeps me full til lunch.

Oikos Triple Zero yogurt is a life saver -- about 120 calories in a cup and 15 grams of protein.

If you do have pasta - use the Barilla high protein pasta - it's in the yellow box and tastes really good.

And start moving -- walk for 1/2 hour a day (around the block, at the mall, at a gym) - and track all your food. I like My Fitness Pal, but there are plenty of other trackers out there.

You've got this girl. Best of Luck!

GOOD. FOR. YOU!!

I had to do a six month pre-op diet program as an insurance requirement. I started Day 1 of that, and lost 99 pounds (397 to 298) by the day of surgery. It was the best thing I ever did for myself. I redefined my relationship with food before the surgery, dealt with my mental demons before the surgery, and lost half of the weight I needed to lose before the surgery. Trust me, that made EVERYTHING much easier. (Least of all, when the 3 week stall hit -- and it WILL hit -- I had lost 120 pounds and not just 20 pounds. It made it much easier to handle emotionally.) Everyday, in my mind, I add 100 pounds to my current weight and think to myself that would be my weight had I not gone ahead and gotten started.

Good luck! Keep up the great work and attitude!

You can do it!!! I am on the 6 MO yoo. My surgery isn't til August. Also if you have Netflix look for these 2 movies, "Hungry for Change" and "Food,Matters". They are really good for inspiring healthy changes. [emoji4]
