Preop diet and constipation

Day 3 of preop diet and constipated . Any one else have that ? Also worried cuz the large Anoubt of Protein doesn't seem to sit well with me . Why so much protein? My protein grams are at about 100 . Is that too much ?

That sounds right. Typically my nut says to aim for 60-80g of Protein a day, but during the pre-op stage I was well over that. I had the same issues as you. I started mixing in Benefiber into my Protein shakes and that helped, but I did have to rely on a laxative once or twice. Benefiber is great to keep things regular but for me it doesn't do much "afer the fact" if you know what I mean.

Start on stool softners. For me that is all I've needed so far. My surgeon said not to worry about not having a bm for a week unless I am uncomfortable. I am 9 days post-op and have had 2 bm.
