They say the best supporters are the ones that are getting it done too. About me. I'm 6'3 445. Heaviest I have ever been. I weighted in at the DR. Office and wanted to cry! Was hard for me. I'm 40 single male. Been feeling a bit lonely lately. The biggest reason I'm doing this is that I want to be healthy and happy again. I hide my emotions from people a lot. Hard to let some stuff out. I have 3 more calls left and a visit and than they set up the surgery.

You can do this! I had surgery on 12/10/16, it's definitely life changing, but for the better. I know what it's like to bottle emotions and feel alone and uncomfortable. Hopefully this will give you a new lease on life, you're stronger than you think! Good luck!

You're in a pack of emotion bottlers here. Turning to food for company and solace. It's great for us and our future relationships that we recognize that.

I am 1 week post surgery. The restrictiveness I have now for eating has been a Godsend. Why? Because it is a constant physical reminder that I don't want to be this way anymore. As I work through my emotional eating problems I have this little tummy helping me to cope with the physical manifestation of my unhappiness.

I have heard that the first few weeks are tough. They are. It is tough to break up with your best friend. I'm totally over him now and ready to move forward into healthier and happier times in my life.

So excited for this to begin for you.

You can always talk here. I have had a good adjustment after my surgery in October and thanks to a brutal flu this weekend I am down 60 pounds! You will find that the not so great feeling postop time is a distant memory. And keep in mind....your body will love you back when you do this.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
