Help! What do I do?

My grandma wants to take me to lunch next week! I'm not telling that side of my family because they are judgmental and weird. I really don't want to go anyway but she gave me 4 different days that she could go so it's not like I can make up an excuse for every day. But, it's not like I can fake it if I do go. What do I do?

And next Thursday is your surgery, right? I'd go ahead and have lunch with her ASAP before the surgery.....just tell her your stomach is upset and you can't eat much, maybe just drink whatever you drink when you go out with her and make several fake trips to the bathroom to reinforce it. Keep it short since you don't 'feel well' or if she's like most grandma's you'll spill the Beans and tell her way too much.

Good luck next week, Mandi!

If the lunch is your surgery day, I wouldn't eat or drink. Most surgeons will require 12 hours of complete fasting prior to your surgery. Assuming your surgery is before midnight, that would pretty much rule out anything to eat or drink that day.

No, my surgery is this Thursday. I may tell her I can go tomorrow and just get a grilled chicken salad or something. I can have something like that.
