Multiple Sclerosis & Gastric Sleeve

I have multiple sclerosis & I'm thinking of having the gastric sleeve surgery. Just curious if anyone here has MS & has had the surgery? & if there were any problems with regard to MS?

  • Thank you. I have checked with my neuro & he said he thought it would benefit me. I was just wondering if anyone had both & their personal experience. Thanks again. Sent from my iPhone usi

I was incorrectly diagnosed with MS 5 years ago. I was still under the care of a neurologist so asked him for his opinion on getting a band. He said he thought it was a good idea, and saw no issues with it and the MS as a lower weight is going to be best for my overall health and especially mobility.

I'm now having my troublesome band replaced with a sleeve.

I'd recommend you check in with your own specialist and have them answer your questions directly. Best of luck for your journey.
