Surgery postponed!

I went in today for my pre-op and my surgery was scheduled for next Tuesday, 9/25. Well it turns out that my doctor has had a family matter that came up and he will be out of town! When they told me that I started to cry. They told me they would reschedule me for 10/2. Then another nurse tells me it won't be until 10/9! More tears. The doctor walked by and saw me crying and he put his arm around me. He said "We will get it done, don't worry."

The nurse called me a couple of hours later to tell me I was scheduled for 10/2 so I guess it's the best we can do. I'm not a September bandster anymore!

I'm so sorry that you had this unexpected delay in your surgery. I know I psyched myself up for my surgery and I can only imagine how disappointing it would have been if it had been rescheduled. Not to mention annoying because I took specific time off work.

I suppose in the scheme of things another 2 weeks seems like nothing to the Dr. and maybe someday you can look back and say it was just two weeks. But...you're not there yet and it hurts.

Best of luck on Oct 2. I'm sure October bandsters are as great as the September ones!

I'm so sorry for you, that was one of my biggest fears.. not the surgery itself but it getting cancelled!! With school and teaching and everything, I knew if I didn't get it done in august I couldn't get it done until December - that seemed like forever.. if they postponed it, it would have been devastating.. That really bites... hang in there! Sounds like your doctor is supportive and is going to take great care of fyou!
