Surgery Date

So my surgeon told me I have Date of February 9th however I've received my approval letter from insurance they said January 16th is Date they're covering for my hospital visit. Is the February date the one in which I should stick by ? Or should I just be patient and call my surgeon tomorrow for correct information?

when I got my approval, it had a random date on it also. My surgeon's office said they do that so approval can go through. They called my insurance company back and gave them actual date after I got an actual date
