Sick Before Surgery - What Can I Take?

I'm five days out from surgery and I seemed to have picked up a low grade flu from my kids. I have a temp of 100, chills, body aches and a debilitating headache. I am laying in my room in the dark completely miserable. My dr said no NSAIDs one week prior to surgery due to blood thinning risk. Is there anything I can take to get through this? Fortunately my kiddos were better in two days so I'm hoping this is short lived. Meantime I'm not eating or sleeping because I feel so uncomfortable. Help.
