I was disappointed

I had an appointment last friday (sept 7th) to attend a seminar on the lap band. When I called to confirm I would be there that day I was told I would have to be rescheduled. The person rescheduled me for Sept 13th. Just before I was ready to leave the house yesterday I called to confirm what metro train to catch. The person I talked to didn't know what I was talking about, she told me that the seminars are only given once a month and the next one will be in October. I explained that I was told that the doctor had an emergency and that my appointment had to be rescheduled. The lady told me that they did have the seminar on the 7th and they don't know who I could have talked too. Needless to say I was angry and dissapointed. It was a good thing I called before I went. :D

If a doc's office is that unorganized and uncaring about their patients I would find another doctor.

Keep in mind, most doc's offices are sweet as pie until you book. Once you have surgery you are no longer a priority, they already got their money out of you.

If they are this bad before surgery, what will your experiences be after surgery?

Does your insurance company offer various doctors or are you stuck with this one?

I thought about calling my doctor's office and getting another referral. I really liked what I read on his website for before and after care (Weight loss programs consisting of obesity surgery) that I decided to make another appointment for his seminar but I'm also going to ask my doctor if she could recommend someone else I can look into.

Sounds like someone deffinitly made a mistake in calling you to reschedule the seminar. Accidents do happen. I would just make sure this is the only one made. If it happens again you know they have a problem keeping things together and you might want to find someone else. I'm sure you are very bummed. I know it is exciting. Good luck to you in whatever you decide.
