Well, I'm sure it depends on the surgeon but I have very low vit D and despite rx vit D, still low...they did not delay my surgery for this...even had to go off vit D for awhile around surgery but back on now so likely it won't delay you

I had low vitamin d too....like really, really low. No delay...my doc just suggested I start d. Drops

I also have low Vit D levels. My health team put me on tablets and advised me to get 20 minutes of unfiltered sunlight twice a week. I drive home with my window open and arm in the sun. There was no mention of delaying my surgery because of the low levels.

My Vitamin D was really low (as in 6). The NP put me on a prescription twice a week for several months pre-op. My levels are normal now. It had no impact on the surgery at all.

I just found out my Vitamin D level was low. Now on pills once a week to get level up. I wonder if this will delay my surgery since it take 12 weeks then another 12 weeks to have blood work drawn and checked again. This journey never boring that's for sure. Surprise around every corner.

@@sugarbear234, my Vitamin D was so low the dr asked had i been living in a dungeon....lol. i think my nutritionist said the number need to be at least over 20's, my bloodwork was a 4, and even getting it through the sun, and i live here in fl, which i avoid being out in the direct sun. Ive had cancer 3x and so i just cant take that chance since my skin is fair. But, with the ones they prescribed, i still had to take that 1 everyday for 8wks until they checked it again, which was better. But im 7wks post op and its low again.
