So i had my ultrasound today and she said my liver has some fat deposits and im just wondering if thats a bad thing or not? my surgery is on December 1st

I think most overweight and obese people have fatty liver. That's why most surgeons require either a strict diet or a completely liquid diet prior to surgery, in order to shrink the liver so that it won't be in the way during the surgery.

I wouldn't worry about it; it can go away with weight loss.

The pre op diet shrinks your organs and should reduce some of the surgical risks caused by a fatty liver.

I had and still do have a fatty liver. It can be a side effect of obesity! It should get better with the weight loss you are about to experience!

Your weight loss should help alleviate your fatty liver. I've always been told that's the only treatment for fatty liver. It counts as a comorbidity for insurance purposes.

Long term it can lead to scarring or chirrosis.
