Military

Has anyone joined a branch of the military after being successful with wls ?

How did you handle boot camp, more specifically the eating and Vitamins? I hear you have to eat super quick and you may not get your necessary amount of Protein.

At least as of last year the US did not allow people with wls in the military.

No, after WLS you are not allowed to join the US Military.

I'm retired from the Army. WLS is disqualifying for induction. Also, you can't have the surgery while in the military, or you will be medically chaptered out. If your heart is set on joining the military, you will need to lose your weight without the help of WLS. It sucks but there is no way your medical needs can be met in any austere environment, i.e. Afghanistan, Iraq, etc.
