I actually chose the band and am getting it taken out and transitioning to a sleeve. Its different for everyone. My mom has the band and is doing great and it worked for me in the beginning but after i got chemo and radiation and went to get a re-fille i just kept getting leaks (i think maybe my treatment affected it) and decided i just couldn't keep doing that so i made the choice to switch. One thing about the band is that you have a lot more appts because you have to get fills and the sleeve is more of a permeant thing. You have quite a few appts the first year but after that you only go for a check up type thing once a year. Go with what you believe is best for you, either way if you work you will see results :) good luck!!

I went through 6 months of classes, worked with the bariatric team to discuss options, what made sense for my personality, healthy, eating habits, etc. I also love that the band is adjustable and my doctor uses a florascope when making adjustments.

Had lapband surgery 10/12/16
