I feel pretty good about the actual surgery but I'm worried about afterwards. I've read that a lot of people get really depressed afterwards. And, as weird as this might sound, I've never been anything but obese so I don't know how I'm going to handle that.

You will do fine. I was nervous for the surgery but it was nothing. I never had any pain meds. I was sore but it wasn't so bad that I couldn't handle it. The barium for the leak test (I had to do it twice) is some of the nastiest stuff I have ever had to drink.

I'm in West Bloomfield, and had my RNY on 3/21/2016 with Dr. Weiner at Huron Valley Sinai Hospital in Commerce.

Where are you having your surgery? Who is your surgeon?
