Birth Control & Surgery?

Just a random thought and I haven't had the chance to ask my surgeon yet but has anyone had the depo shot and has had the surgery??

I know they say depo shot makes you gain weight so I'm just wondering or more so curious if you are on BC has it hindered your weight loss?

I'm interested in knowing about this too. Please let us know what your surgeon says!

Im on the deposhot too. My gyn suggested the sleeve and said it would be beneficial. They remove most hunger hormones, so im sure that helps.

I was on the depo shot when I was sleeved and still on it a year post op and I had no changes or complications , I do know you become really fertile after being sleeved so its better to be cautious then to be pregnant lol

I broke up with my boyfriend a couple months prior to surgery and now I'm just shy of 10 weeks post op and dating again. Soooo birth control hasn't been an issue, but I'm now 5 dates into dating someone nice and thinking I should probably start considering BC. I didn't lose 36 pounds to get pregnant 3 months out!

I got on the merina after my child. Had a BAD horrible reaction. Bad hives all over and swollen throat/tongue. I won't do that again lol but I heard great things

I have the nexplanon implant and it's kind of amazing...

I'm on depo and have been for years. No issues pre op or post op. It is also good cause there is no estrogen so it doesn't contribute to blood clots which you are already prone to after surgery.
