Hey Everyone,

I went for my pre-op testing this past Monday, which included LOTS of blood work. I would like to preface this by saying...I did place a call to the MD office, but have not heard back from them yet. It appears to my untrained eyes that I am quite Anemic, so I am wondering if this will improve with surgery, or get worse? Anyone have experience with this?

@@NikkiRT It will not improve with surgery - it could get worse. What are your results? They will most likely require treatment prior to surgery as it is very dangerous to operate on someone with anemia.

Oh goodness you have me worried KristenLe! I will look at the levels and post. I am not at home. Maybe they can start treatment now!

They're not always as clear to us - I thought I had abnormal results and Dr said they were fine.

Ok.. so there are a few tests that I think relate to this.. here are my numbers:

Transferrin 324

Iron 54 mcg

Monocyte Rel 7.0%

RDW 14.8%

MCH 26.5

I don't think those are bad #s. My TSH was higher. Iron lower but not low enough to be abnormal I don't think. I wouldn't worry.
