Number 2 ("unconstipation")

Hello My Friends:

On a not so pleasant subject. I am 2 plus weeks post op -- all of a sudden I am finding myself going to the bathroom a lot (see subject line); and I wonder if you guys have experienced same? I mean, better out than in but still, since I am eating so much less than pre surgery, I am curious about this activity and whether it is common amongst bandsters.

thanks!

I was so worried that I hadn't went. I had my husband go to the Drug store for meds. Today is Day 4 post-op and I could have pudding and creamy Soups. Needless to say when I had the pudding it went right on down and out. I am going to have Soup later and see what happens. I guess our bodies just have to adjust to the shock of having different foods. I am glad I have someone to talk to about it.

No i'm not on liquids, and the BM are solid. just often, like 4/6 times a day now - which is a lot for me personally.

go figure. its ok though

What kind of foods are you eating? Are they higher in fiber than usual? Any sugar alcohols in your food? (sugar alcohol does some crazy stuff to your digestive tract!)

In the mornings, sometimes I will have a protein shake or some hot wheat (farina); lunch usually soup of some kind (during the week at work); mixed vegetables at night - things like that.

I'm in the "liquid in - LIQUID out" phase right now. I had surgery on Monday and it started on Thurs - right when I switched to full liquids. At first I though it was because I had a few glasses of apple juice during clear liquids but it's continued. And it's been BAD.

My doc said I could take a little Imodium AD, which has helped a lot. I was kind of worried about getting dehydrated because I haven't yet gotten in my 64ozs of water a day. Today I got up over 50ozs and discovered PROPEL by the makers of Gatorade. I think I should be good from here on out - my tummy has just been so bloated that drinking so much water has been hard!!

The liquid stage is over for me for a few weeks already. I'll figure it out. Actually a girlfriend of mine's co worker told her that her father had the lap band and he is always visiting the bathroom (not diaria). So i guess everyone is different.
