i am seriously considering to have the lap band fitted has anyone any good advice:)

I'm not sure what kind of advice you are looking for, but the very best bit of advice I can give you is take some time and look around the boards here. One VERRRY important forum to read is the FAQ and references forum. That's where you will find loads of info on the bands, questions to ask the surgeon, lists of things to have on hand before surgery, etc.

If you think of a question, there is a GREAT search function here in the blue toolbar near the top of the page, you might be able to find the answer that way, if not, please by all means ask away!

I just found out about the lap band back in April for the first time. I settled down and did a month of INTENSIVE research, googling everything on the net and reading all the posts here. I can honestly say when I went in to surgery on May 23 I felt 100% informed. There were no surprises for me whatsoever. I was covered informationally for every contingency and I was very comfortable with my decision. You have a wealth of experience here to tap. Use it and you'll find everything you need to make an informed decision!
