Birth Control After Sleeve

I am trying to find the best birth control option after my sleeve. I don't want to take the pill due to the increased risk of blood clots and I have no experience with the IUD. I certainly don't want anything that will cause weight gain either Any suggestions???

switched from orals to Mirena about 18 months after my sleeve (due to age and extended length of time being on estrogen) and LOVE it. no weight gain that i can pinpoint directly (i have had about 18-20 lb regain but more related to stress eating and falling off my plan). also no more periods at all, which is expected with Mirena.

No issues, i would recommend to anybody.

Mirena coils are fantastic when they work for you. The last 3 I had moved so had to have them removed. I'm 6 months post op sleeve. 4 weeks ago I was sterilised in the outpatients department under local anaesthetic which took 10 mins. Highly recommended. (I'm in the UK btw).

Yeah. My IUD fell out but apparently that isn't common so hopefully you have a good experience. I've heard great things about it!

I had a mirena IUD inserted in preparation for surgery. I've had it about three months now, and I'm very happy. My periods are lighter (I've always had heavy periods when not on the pill). I do have some spotting mid-cycle, and for a couple days before and after my period, but I had that before, and it was heavier and longer in duration then. Definitely no weight gain from it. :)

I -possibly- had additional bloating in the two weeks before my period started this last cycle. I say possibly because I've never tracked my weight this closely before. My weight loss stalled for 10 days, and I even gained two lbs. I was five weeks post-op at that time.
