I am wondering the same thing. I was told that the hernia repair shouldn't prolong recovery. We shall see I guess. Female NC HW:280 HT:5'9" VSG:9/6/16

I had both, it didn't prolong my recovery. Had surgery on a Thursday, back to work on Monday. Sent from my ZTE A2017U using the BariatricPal App

  • I did as well. Hiatal hernias are pretty commonplace and I think there are more that have them than don't when speaking of WLS patients.

I did. My doc said my hernia was more complicated thend he expected but I never felt anything but a little pressure in that area for a day or so. It did t delay or add to my recovery which was smooth all the way.

Depends on the type of hernia you are having repaired.

I had VSG and an umbilical abdominal hernia repaired at the same time. The hernia repair was the source of pain when I was post op.

I took 3 weeks off from work to let it heal.

I should have taken an additional week.

I'm also having both done on September 6th

I had a hital hernia repair during my sleeve procedure. I had no extra pain and would not have even known if he didn't tell me. My whole procedure was about an hour
