August 29, 200718 yr PB stands for Productive Burp. It is a bandster form of throwing up basically. When we overeat seriously, or eat too big of a bite to pass through the narrowed opening caused by the band...food cannot pass, therefore there is only one way for it to go---up and out! Usually prior to a PB--you will "slime" which is the bodies way of trying to help. Your body begins producing huge amounts of thick gooey saliva, trying to help slick up and slide whatever is stuck on through. The problem is our stomachs are so small, it overfills us---and often brings on the PB unless you spit out all the slime---pretty gross, and not something that should happen often. I am 16 months out, and have PB'd twice, nothign serious either time. The biggest difference in PBing and throwing up is that there is nothing except the saliva and food---there is no stomach acids involved. And it is usually kind of painful in my opinion, as we try to avoid throwing up, it is not the best thing for a band. A question ask to learn is never ignorant!!!! Welcome to LBT!!! Look around and ask anything you wonder about! Kat
