    Seafood help???????????????

I am not a huge seafood fan, but I do love any white fish. Scrod, cod, tilapia etc. It doesn't have a "fishy" taste and it's easy going down. Good luck!

    Jump on the Goal Train

Lawanda Jessica, You are doing great! I was about the same weight as you when I had my surgery (August 24th) and I weigh 219 right now. You'll be in onederland by Christmas, I'm sure! I hope to be there with you, GOOD LUCK!!!!

    Whats the worst you've heard?

HEY wrk-n-prgrss. your weight loss is amazing! I was the same start weight as you when I was banded. How long did it take to lose that much weight? I can't wait to be where you are. Keep up the great work!!! I've lost 22 lbs. so far, got a ways to go.

    Getting in all that PROTEIN!

Where can we buy the new whey protein test tubes. I hope in a store as I have an old fashioned fear of ordering things online!
  5. Nana, I have difficulties navigating this site, but I'm a pro at Myspace! It's hard to find someone on myspace unless you have their email address. Go to "search" and put in linzmb2000@yahoo.com. That is my email address, add me and We'll be friends. If anyone else out there has a page and would like to be friends, don't hesitate to add me!! Don't worry, Evil Lin, is only my profile name, not a state of mind. I've written some blogs about my lapband journey so far. Be interseted to see what you think! Hope to hear from you soon:):)
  6. Hi Jody!! How on earth do you only eat 3-4 oz. of food and not be starving? You have more willpower than me. I eat until I start to feel full, then I stop. I'm eating MUCH less than I used to. I have been following the south beach diet, I find it easy for me. I have cheated and had some mashed potatoes a few times. It seems like we are in the same boat. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to be restricted to high heaven and watch this weight finally come off! Princesst, 42 lbs. You are my hero!!!! :):car::):):):):)

    I could eat an elephant!

JP, I'm in the same boat. I was banded the 24th of August and I feel like I could eat anything. I'm trying to feel the "full" sensation, but it's so hard. My first fill is set for Oct. 10th. I've made healthy choices, but I think I'm eating too much. This is very frustrating! It's gotta work in the long run, look at all the success stories! We'll get there eventually. People are surprised I've only lost 20 so far too. Keep plugging away!!
  8. Hi Nicole Cardey! We were banded the same day. Unlike you I haven't had a fill yet I think I'm getting one on Oct. 10th. I have been on solids for a week now, I haven't lost anymore weight. I'm down 20 so far, but I lost that mostly on the liquid phase. I feel no restriction and I'm hungry all the time. I'm eating so much less (and better choices) than I used to, but I still think I'm eating too much. I'm definetly having more than a cup of food. I ate a whole chicken breast yesterday, I feel like this is all wrong. Any advice? I'm nervous, thanks.

    Whats the worst you've heard?

Oh, and BJean. I hope you don't think I'm bashing you. I get what you are saying and you are right. I just get annoyed with people who are mean to us fatties  :). We are human and don't deserve to be made fun of just because we aren't "society's norm". I hope I didn't offend you!

    Whats the worst you've heard?

I don't think the point of this thread was to convince others that "fat is beautiful". I have not seen one post complaining that "plus size women should be attractive to men". I tought the point of this thread was to vent about how rude some people can be towards those of us who are over weight. I'm talking about unprovoked, mean and uncalled for comments. We know we are fat, no one is denying that. That is the reason why we have chosen to do something about it. I don't care how fat (or skinny) I am, I don't need people critisizing my lifestyle or how I look. If you don't have something nice to say, then shut the eff up! Keep it to yourself. It's hard enough having to live in our own skin without added ridicule.
  11. I was doing really well before....but it's been hard lately. The scale hasn't moved in a few days, I knew weighing myself everyday would come back to bite me in the ass! I ate an ice cream sundae from Mc Donald's, what the hell is wrong with me?!?! I'm down 20 lbs., which is great, but I'm afraid I'm going to ruin all that I've done so far. I'm going to get that whey powder tomorrow, I'm not getting in enough protein. I'm hungry alot of the time, but I haven't gone crazy. Well, apart from the sundae episode. I just need to give myself a kick in the ass and start over tomorrow! Yup, that's what I'll do!! Can't wait for my fill, Oct. 10th, I think.

    Jump on the Goal Train

Wow, you guys are doing great! Good job Salsa1877, we were banded the same day right? I can't think of a goal better than being in the onederland by december. It's been ages!! I too would like to do water aerobics, but with school and work I don't have the time. So, I'll be getting in walking when I can. Also I have a great pilates tape. I got to get my butt in gear!!!!!

    When's your birthday?

January 28, 1978.......This is going to be a BIG year
  15. I know how you feel, sheaross99. 2 days after I got banded, I had to go to my niece's baptism bbq. I sat there drinking a protein shake, while everyone else pigged out. They even had a "make your own sundae" table! A whole table! It was so hard. Now I'm in to mushies, I had refried beans today. It was so good What a difference 2 weeks makes. I don't know how you feel, but the first 2 weeks were so tough for me. It gets better and better everyday. 20lbs. down ain't bad either
  16. I was banded on the 24th, just had my post-op visit yesterday, I'm down 20lbs!! I began mushies and I'm enjoying it sooo much. I'm afraid I'm not getting in enough protein, I can't do the shakes anymore. Keep me posted on all you successes, you guys. I love to hear about it, good luck! :):):)
  17. well Louise, sopposedly we could stretch out our pouches if we try to eat solids before we are completely healed. I'm not sure if it's right, it what I've heard. I was banded on the 24th of August, down 20lbs. so far. Mushies have been wonderful. I can't wait to be "filled" and see what else I can accomplish! Good Luck You Guys!!

where do you find those drinks, kacee?

    Unexpected results

I was banded on the 24th of August and I'm doing well. I'm hardly in any pain anymore and I also have lost 12lbs. (woohoo voodoo kitty!) I am having great difficult with my protein shakes. I've been only getting 1 in for the past couple of days. I have soup or water. On the 7th I make the switch to mushies, I can't wait!! Cottage cheese will be my savior. I also bought (and drank) a special k protein water. It has 50 cal. and 5 gms. of protein, it wasn't bad. I am also addicted to lapbandtalk, I am learning so much! It's like I have personal medical advice when ever I want, it's great.
  20. A thread for Augies, how wonderful!! I was banded on 8/24. I'm still in the liquid phase of the diet and I am dreaming of mushies, can't wait! I start nursing school on the 5th of sept. and I'm really nervous. I hope the timing of the surgery doesn't interfere with the start of my classes. I don't want to do anything to mess up the band and all the hard work i've done so far. It's hilarious, my professors told us to buy our uniforms 1-2 sizes larger because of the weight we'll gain in school. Well, that doesn't apply to me anymore, I couldn't be more excited!! GOOD LUCK TO ALL MY AUGUST BANDERS!!!
  21. Hi Everyone! I was just banded on 8/24/07, so it's very new to me. I'm still on liquids and I'm going a little crazy. I did break down and have ice cream one day, but other than that episode, it's been all liquids. Here's my issue, I can only bring myself to have 2 protein shakes a day. (I Hate the taste of them) I have broth or water for the rest of the day. I'm really starting to get nervous about losing my hair. I may be fat, but my hair is beautiful and I don't want to lose it. I'm scared and I need encouragement, I think. Or you guys can lie to me and tell me I won't lose any hair. Thanks for any help.:help:

    I need some encouragement guys!

I'm hearing that alot of people are getting their gallbladder removed. Is this common? Was it because of the weight loss?
  23. L!NDS@Y

    I need some encouragement guys!

This is really hard! I went to a Patriots game yesterday with my husband and friends. We tail gated before the game, of course, and while everyone else had grilled steak sandwiches, I "ate" broth. I actually licked off the flavoring of a bunch of bbq chips, how pathetic! My 5th wedding anniversary is Saturday and I guess we won't be going out to eat like we normally do. This is so weird. I'm so happy I went through with the surgery, I know it was the right choice for me. But I'm still kinda bummed and I miss not thinking about what went in to my mouth. I hope this feeling passes. I've lost 10lbs. so far. I am happy about that. I would love to stay in touch with you guys that had surgery around the same time as me. I'm going shopping today for all the vitamins you all have recommended. Who wants to be skinny and bald? Not me!! Well Darknlovely3, I had no idea I was going to lose my hair until I began reading the different threads on the subject. I need to be proactive and do the best I can and hopefully it won't be that bad. All the best!!!

    Whats the worst you've heard?

oh god i almost forgot about this one. when i was getting married, i brought my dress to be altered by a seamstress my m-i-l uses. she's an old italian lady. as she was measuring and pinning she says to me, "you no eat for 2 weeks." (that's when i had to return for my final fitting). so when i returned 2 weeks later, she looks at me and says, "you been eating!". my m-i-l wanted to die of embarassment. i thought it was funny. did she really expect me not to eat for 2 weeks? sheesh!
