Generally, co-morbidities for bariatric surgery are high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, sleep apnea, and possibly others like GERD. I think they are probably just asking about migraines in regards to knowing your total health history, just like they will ask about previous surgeries.

    Many WLS folks head into surgery not having had caffeine for quite some time. Caffeine withdrawal can spark a migraine.

    It is always better to know going in if a patient will probably suffer caffeine withdrawal , therefore a migraine. There are meds that can be ordered to have ready ---before the migraine has time to settle in.

    Migraines are no fun on a good day. Waking up after WLS with one is torturous and unnecessary.
