Regards to what I need

Hello everyone my gastric bypass surgery date is set for 2nd week of September. My question is, which I haven't been told yet, but I hear that I will have to go on a liquid diet two weeks before my surgery right? And that is to be of Water, broth and Protein Drinks only right? Well I also been told by my dietitian that I needed to purchase Protein drinks and Vitamin D3 Flintstones vitamin, Iron and B12 vitamin. Now I done went in July and purchased like 12-13 cases of the Premier Protein shakes and my Vitamins and also like 3 or 4 chicken broths. My question is will I really be drinking all these Protein Shakes and broths and taking all these vitamins after my surgery even 4 or 5 months after. If I have I have no problem doing so but I know I can go a little over board and these products not cheap for me to buy all this and later find out I'm not even going to use them all. I mean 4 come in each case and I am heading to get more . ????

Hi. I also am having gastric bypass surgery on September 19th. I was told for the 2 wks before to have a Protein Shake 2×daily and a lean cuisine or similar for supper. I'm sure every surgeon is different as to what they order. After surgery I'm sure maybe 2oz of a shake at a time would be about it if we're lucky. I've bought some things ahead but I'm not going to buy too much because what if you buy a certain kind and then can't tolerate it??? And then have to switch to a different brand. I've heard of that happening. Wish you luck.

They had me do a liver shrink diet pre-surgery which is a lot of protein, but didn't have to be liquid. No carbs. The vitamins you will take for the rest of your life. Post surgery those protein shakes are going to be your best way to get protein since you will be on a liquid diet after surgery for at least a week and pureed for another month. Go to a wholesale club or Amazon and get them by the case... It's way cheaper then the 4 packs.

Good luck Yani!

You WILL use them... BUT my tastebuds changed dramatically and Premier is WAY tooooo sweet for me to tolerate now... so don't marry yourself to one brand type

I will keep that in mind thank you a lot
