my lap band slippage

Recommended Posts

I am sooooooo frustrated with myself!!! I have had my band for a little over 2 years now and have nothing but problems with acid reflux, vomiting, band being too tight and now I just had surgery Wednesday for a band slippage. I am torn between keeping my band or having it removed. I have had more bad than good times with my band and want your opinion guys and gals.:faint:

Only you know the answer to that one. You have to ask yourself...if it's worth it if it's been more bad than good? If it truly has been more bad then good then why has it been that way...just physically your body doesn't like the band even though you've followed the band rules.....did you not follow the rules and so it's been bad but, if you did you'd do ok? Stuff like that. I think writing pros and cons on a piece of paper would help you too. The band isn't for everyone so don't knock yourself for trying...you need to pat yourself on the back for at least trying because it's not an easy decision. I wish I could help you with your decision but, it's such a personal choice. I now for me....even through I'm not losing and haven't since January, I know I'd eat way more than I should if it weren't in place so for me it's still a good choice. I wish you the best in your decision and hope you're feeling better soon.

Hopefully wasabubblebut will come in here and talk to you about problems with the band. Some people have spasms in their esophagus and can't handle fills in their band. There is medication you can take for this.

Were you having trouble with the band when you didn't have a fill? That would answer some of your questions.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
