surgery 25!

Hi All, I'm having surgery on July 25 and man I'm feeling funny! I'm scared, sad, excited, crazy, and I feel alone. I don't know why I'm feeling the sadness and and sense of being all alone in this venture. I speculate that in part I'm giving up what has comforted, controlled, and protected me for a long time. I know I'm doing the right thing tho'. Has anyone else had these kinds of feelings?

I think you hit it right on target. It's pretty great when you can give words to your feelings. food has been my lover, comforter, and friend for such a long time too. I found putting pen to paper and writing down my feelings has helped me put food in it's proper perspective. You are not alone, I feel I will no longer have a hiding place (food hid me). This is exciting and scary at the same time. Being apart of this forum has increase my excitement and diminish my scary-mary self. Good luck and GOD Bless
