Surgery was 6/6/16

I'm not hungry at all. Very thirsty and can't take much at all in at one time. Trying for 1/2 ounce every five minutes but I can feel it go down and it feels like it's stuck! Have chest pains right after swallowing. Anyone experience this and please tell it gets better!

With fluids or food? Try drinking fluids at different temps to see if you tolerate one over the other. Take your time - you still have significant swelling.

  • Yes, just still on fluids. I take small sips of Water and I feel it all the way down. It feels like it gets stuck in chest area. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  • I am having trouble with the length of time it is taking me to eat. My surgery date was 5/3/16 and I am still restricted to 1/3 cup for meals and snacks but I am having trouble making it last the 20 m

yes, this sounds normal for 2 days out, and it does get better - should be some better every day.

I had mine done June 9 I have trouble swallowing my meds the first week I either didn't take them or crushed them. Yea I still have pain. I asked all my friends to be honest with me and they were not. No one told me the bad pain we would be going through in the first few weeks. Now that I got it they say stuff like you can do it. I broke down because if people who are my friends over 20 years couldn't be honest with me then who can? So I try to keep it as real as possible that's all I wanted. I wish you luck may God watch over all of us.

I am having trouble with the length of time it is taking me to eat. My surgery date was 5/3/16 and I am still restricted to 1/3 cup for meals and snacks but I am having trouble making it last the 20 min I was told it should take me to eat, along with that I do get the pain/discomfort of eating too fast but I can't seem to slow down. I have tried putting my silverware down in between bites but it hasn't worked. Anyone have any advice for me?
