After my 4 required appointments with the NUT, my paperwork was submitted on May 25th. Today I got a letter from BCBS stating I will hear something within the next 15 days. :-(. I've been with BCBS since 1993... Same Federal plan

Oh, man, I know the frustration I put in to get a consult with my previous surgeon (had lapband and had it removed), and it took them a month to even review the damn thing. We put it in at the end of April and I didn't get a response until May 27th. Thankfully I got ahold of the coordinator beforehand and she scheduled me right away for the consult... but I'm not looking forward to the wait to get a response on surgery. I'd give them a call within 7 days and see if there's any info in the system yet.

I am on Federal BCBS also. My advice is to call every other day and find out if it was approved. I found out 5 days after submission of my paperwork that I was approved. I called my clinic and my surgery was scheduled that day.

I have BCBS and found out within 5 days once the paperwork was submitted that I was approved. The day I found out my surgery was set up immediately. I would call BCBS and also talk to you patient coordinator at the clinic.

Thanks for the encouragement. I received a call today from BCBS, I'm approved!!!!! Waiting to be scheduled with my surgeon. Pray it's sooner than later. I'm ready for a change!

Hello all, I have been approved and received all of my next dates for Gallbladder test, Endo, Pre-op, surgery date, and 1st Post-op. I started this process in February 4th (2016) and my surgery is August 8th (2016). Thats still right at 2-months away, but I'm praying the time goes fast! I am not nervous, I am not doubting, I am ready for my life to change for the BEST!
