I was just wondering if anyone has flown out of state to do their lapband surgery and gone alone to do the surgery? Do you have to have someone with you or can you do it alone? I was just curious.

I went to Mexico alone. Honestly, for me it was no big deal.

I didn't fly out of state but I did do it in the state where I am attending college. I don't have any family out here. My mom did end up flying out to be with me. My mom and my boyfriend was with me the whole time. Though I could imagine going through it alone since it's such a quick surgery. Though, it's always nice to have family or friends for the help and the support.

I know someone who flew to Palm Springs CA to have it done.

The surgeon made arrangements with a local pleasant but reasonably priced hotel for a few days, and then my friend flew back home without any problems, but he said that if he had to do it over again, he'd recruit a friend to accompany him.

Going it alone should be the last resort.
