HI

I have had problems with my gastric band for a few years now and recently had the port removed. In the meantime I am still getting chronic pain in my left side and even when I swim it pulls. To me this is the gastric band issue and I have been in A & E on various occasions in pain but they have done all tests and can't find anything which I don't believe is true, I know my body and something is not right. I don't have the money to have it removed although if needs be I am going to organise a loan because I can't cope with it anymore. Does anyone else have these issues or could give me advice on making the right decision in this regard? I don't want to waste money to have it removed and still be in pain although I can't see that happening.

Any advice greatly received.

Kind regards,

Keely

Unless things have changed, A&E doctors and staff and other non-bariatric types know little about bands. Was it your band surgeon who removed the port? I can't imagine having a band without it and would think that the saline would have had to be removed for safety's sake.

You don't say which tests you've had, but I assume complete abdominal ultrasound, et al. No signs of hernia? If your surgeon can confirm that the band is causing problems, won't National Health pay for removal?

I wish you well -- that is, finding the cause and the solution.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
