Time Off Work..

Hi Everyone! This is my first post and I'm sooo excited to be a part of this community. I've been reading forums for weeks! Although I don't have a surgery date (yet) I'm curious to know how much time it took for you to recover? I'm planning on gastric bypass. I've got two weeks I can take off work. I don't work in an office environment, I work in a bakery with 8hr+ shifts on my feet. I'm wondering what everyone's recovery experience was like! Thank you much!! :)

Hello! I had gastric sleeve surgery. I took two full weeks off from work. Although I have a desk job I have to at times walk to different buildings for meetings. I was glad I took two weeks. The first week primarily to heal and the second week to really concentrate on the nutrition guidelines. My surgery went well, but I had some issues with the anesthesia which caused major nausea issues. As far actual pain I did very well with the pain. I had only one incision that was angry and by the end of the first week at home it was not angry. I only used the pain meds(diluaded) only once when I first got home. I literally only took one pill one night when I was uncomfortable and having difficulty sleeping. I would say that there was more discomfort with the gas pains. I did struggle with low energy, but I think that is natural and common.

Good luck on your journey and there is a lot of good information here.
