Hi Peggy. I'm from Fulton County. I had my LB done about 1 1/2 years ago.I know of a support group for banders . Its at Albany Med. I'm not sure of the day or time. Its once a month though.I've never been even though I should go, BUT, driving 35 miles to a meeting just doesnt seem worth it. It would be a REALLY long drive for you. There are other support groups for gastric surgery patients, but 99.9 percent of people who go to them have had or are having gastric bypass. Wish I could be of more help.

Hi I am from Ballston Spa NY and will be having the band done in Albany Med in March of 08. They seem to be great doctors. I have just started the 6 month pre surgery period of changing the way I eat and I am working with a personal trainer.

This is a huge step in my life. Most days I am excited but some days I am still scared.

Hi Cindy...

Good for you! You're on your way to a much healthier life. I agree, this is a huge step for all of us, and we all have had days that alter between excitement and nervousness. Feeling your clothes get looser and looser and the scale go steadily downwards is the best incentive. This site will be a wonderful resource for you. Don't hesitate to post questions or concerns....

Good luck to you,

Peggy
