Hi guys,

I am considering both, which one is better ?

Does anyone still do VBG. I am not saying that to be rude, but I think that Lapband has replaced VGB in most situations.

Here I think you will get most of you opinions saying that Lapband is superior. In my opinion it is. The adjustable aspect of it was the most appealing for me as well as the very low rate of complication. That combined with the fact that after 5 years, weight loss with Lapband is not significantly different than other weight loss surgeries made it a no brainer for me.

I did not look into VGB or any other surgery because I too like the fact that it is adjustable, reversable, and it can be replaced if needed. If god forbid I were to get very sick later in life and needed to be able to eat more I could. If I won the lotto and wanted another baby I could have it adjusted and eat more. For me there was no other option I considered. I also liked how simple of a surgery it was and how quickly I was back to being myself. Good luck in your decision!
