Ignorance, Senility, or NSV?

I am 6 weeks out today and I feel fantastic. So much so that I just registered for my first ever half marathon in November. WTF? I don't run. A killer could be chasing me and I'd just lay down.

To think just a few short weeks ago I was an emotional wreck and kicking myself for going through with the surgery, and now here I am feeling better than ever and registered for a freaking half marathon.

Never in a million years did I think this could be my life.

THANK YOU VSG!!!

I love you all like brothers... Albeit brothers with boobs and certain levels of inappropriate hotness... So I feel I can speak my mind... And here 'tis... If you lot can't find something better

Thanks all. I just really can't believe I feel as great as I do. I also have all of you to thank for the advice, inspiration and much needed laughter during some of my darkest days. I'm scared a

Lol. Good for you @@OKCPirate good for you!!

When I first discussed it with my personal trainer, he said "Im not saying you will take first place, but you can definitely run it". I told him I wasn't looking to win, just to cross the finish line without dying.

Today the excitement has vanished and I'm left with the "what the heck did I get myself into" thoughts, but I'll push through. Panic stricken and all.

You kinda have to now...

The hopes and dreams of all of us are now riding firmly on your shoulders!!!

No pressure tho...

I was wondering how long it would take you to chime in @@KindaFamiliar

No worries on me backing out. I've put too much money out, and told too many people just to make sure I stick with it.

I promise the evening of November 13th, you will either see a picture of me on a gurney, or one with a medal around my neck.

@@Andrea72

Wondering how long???

Awwwwwwww...

I missed you too...

While you're carrying our hopes and dreams, you're also armed with our love and support...

I know, right!!!

I'm quite the charmer when I wanna be!!!

There was no doubt in my mind that there was a kind hearted man behind all those quick witted, smart ass, comments. @@KindaFamiliar

@@Andrea72

Of course there's a "kind hearted man" there somewhere...

Chicks dig that sh*t, right???

@@KindaFamiliar

Yep. Kind hearted with a little bit of smart ass mixed in.

@@Andrea72

Finally!!!

Someone who'll confirm my suspicions...

I hope you didn't give away any secrets of the 'sisterhood'...

@@Andrea72

Thanks. I am not sure at all what I got myself into, but I'm on my way! I figured out last night that I need to average 13:30 miles or less to beat the bus that picks you up for being too slow. :P:huh: I am averaging 14 min/miles now so I think I can do it by October.

Depending on your size, I highly recommend Moving Comfort bras. I like Maia, but I am a D/DD cup even after more than 70 lbs. They have lots of different styles. I knew I liked Maia, and I knew I wanted to run during my honeymoon period so I found a really amazing clearance on maia bras last fall. I got two for less than $15 each! They are bright pink, but they are smaller than what I have since shrunk out of so I have managed not to have to pay full price for any new ones yet.

Good luck on your shopping.

pam

thank's for the recommendation! I have been shopping for a sports bra because mine are getting too big around. I will try to pop into a local store to try one on when we are out shopping for a graduation dress for #2 daughter this weekend.

I'm only speculating @@KindaFamiliar

I've been told by more than one that I'm not like most women and I wouldn't dare give away that information.

@@Andrea72

What a coincidence...

I've also been told that I'm not like most women...

And that is something about which 'most women' should really rejoice!!!

Now...

Weren't you talking about running?

Or boobs...

Or something....

@@Andrea72,

So glad you’re in a positive place now! Good luck with your half-marathon training. That should keep you motivated!

Thanks @@Alex Brecher

Im still trying to wrap my head around running 13 miles. I start training on Monday so I figure if I make it through that day without dying, I'm off to a great start.

So in keeping you guys updated, I remembered I had a friend that is a triathlete and asked if she could suggest someone I talk too prior to me just hitting the open road.

Well that led me to emailing her trainer. He replied asking if we could talk on the phone so he could get a better idea as to what my needs are.

Thinking he was just a normal trainer, I said sure. Turns out he is a USA Triathlon Certified trainer. I have never been so scared to talk to someone before in my life.

How do I end up in these situations?!?!? Lol
