I can eat ANYTHING

Recommended Posts

I am 3 months post op and there is not one single thing that I have not been able to tolerate. I can gulp drinks, drink through a straw, swollow without chewing to a mushy consistency and I have not once felt anything less then normal. This is extremely bittersweet. I wish I had some food intolerances. Has anyone else experienced this? Have any advise, wisdom or support?

Where did you have your surgery? Have you thought to call them and ask these questions?

I, for one, would be interested in their reply.

Let us know.

Keep on Keep'n on! :)

I pretty much can do the same. I definitely have restriction after a few bites, but so far 8 months out I can tolerate all foods I have tried and really have no intolerances either.I have overdone it occasionally, too much of something and felt nauseated, but it was more from too much then the food itself. I feel grateful for my sleeve, and really need to watch how much and not push that last bite that puts me over the edge. It is hard.

I envy this.

I know you say you can eat "anything" but surely you feel like you can't eat the same amount, right?

I STILL have things that bother my stomach. The lining or something. But yes I too can usually drink normally now, depending on what position my body is in. I try not eat more than the half cup or cu of food though because I am terrified of something going wrong.

It sounds to me like your stomach is a HAPPY stomach.

I am 8 months post op and can also eat anything.

I haven had any issues.

I am also finding that I can eat more and am feeling hungry more often.

Trying to stay around 1200 calories, but it's challenging now.

Are you taking Probiotics or digestive enzymes? I am not as far out from surgery from you but I find I can tolerate nearly anything. My doctor encourages lots of drinkable yogurt/kefir, probiotics and digestive enzymes. I think these may be the reason I can tolerate different foods. I still feel the restriction if I eat more than a couple of ounces.

I had it done in the states. Yes, I definitely feel full and restricted but I get hungry again after only about an hour or two. I can't eat nearly as much as I used to. I guess I'm more thankful that I have a 'happy' stomach and I'm losing weight slowly , I just feel like not much changed as I was hoping with losing the hunger inducing hormones. I wish I hated food! The struggle is real.

the only thing I didn't care so much for was steak and venison. will try again later - just made me feel a little off. no real problems with it.

I am glad! I can have anything. in small amounts. :-) it's a good thing, really.

Are the "ANYTHING foods" healthy foods? If so enjoy it with moderation...

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
