Artificial nails in OR?

I'm scheduled for my procedure in 2 days and during hospital preregistration I was told not to have nail polish on my fingers, but it was ok to have my toes painted. Has anyone woken up in the recovery room to find that their acrylic nail(s) was removed? I know there are other body parts where they can get my O2 saturation besides fingertip.

    I have had lots of surgeries and I always just take the acrylic off my index fingers. But remove the polish from all. It's just so they can look at hour nail beds for oxygenation.
