Bowel prep weight loss, how much did you loose?

Hello April 11th surgery date, and i have bowel prep to do next weekend. Not looking forward to that! Wondering how much people lost during that time because I can't let my bmi drop below what insurance allows. I'm right on the edge with 5lbs to play with but wondering how much you all lost during this process. Thanks for the help.

  • I haven't heard of anyone having to do a "bowel" prep.......only liquid or low carb diets to shrink your liver (not everyone's surgeon requires this)....and Clear liquids right before surgery.........

I haven't heard of anyone having to do a "bowel" prep.......only liquid or low carb diets to shrink your liver (not everyone's surgeon requires this)....and Clear liquids right before surgery..........most everyone looses during the low carb or liquid diets.....you probably want to talk to your surgeons office to make sure they understand you're concerned about loosing....they may be able to set your mind at rest.....I know for me at that stage my insurance has already approved so it won't matter, but I'm not sure about you. You should check with you doc.

Somewhere on here, a fellow in your same situation had to pay an extra $9000 because on surgery day he was 1+lbs under his insurance weight. Eventually the insurance kicked in for him but it was after he prepaid. Search it out. Good luck, talk to your Dr.

Thank you! That's my worry!
