caffeine withdrawal

So I'm still a ways out for surgery.....it should be sometime in May. But I thought I'd try to start getting off caffeine, so this morning my coffee was basically half and half. I mix on pound of decaffeinated coffee with one pound of my favorite flavored coffee......and now I have a pounding headache.....How long does it usually take to get off caffeine and not have the terrible withdrawal headaches?

@@MomOf4OhMy - why a little splenda? I think stevia does a better job of sweetening. Zero calories and plant based. The liquid version mixes very well with iced drinks as well as hot.

Ahhhhh...do I remember that well! LOL.

I had to be off caffeine prior to surgery. I decided I was going to quit cold turkey - not a good idea. I got sick to my stomach, had a huge headache, and was cranky.

I ended up weening myself off over the course of two weeks, slowly cutting down every couple of days.

Best of luck!

@@OKCPirate I've actually never tried stevia, I'll have to check it out! Splenda is just what I've used for years. :)
