i just wanted to know if alcohol effects the band in anyway other than the calories does it harm the band?

Alcohol is a stomach irritant. It can bother your new pouch just like coffee. It won't harm you band directly. Most people think it is fine in moderation.

It will take less alcohol for you to feel it's effects after you're banded, than prebanded.
