If it was like mine it is for information purposes. You will be presented with all of the options and hopefully opportunities to ask questions and meet post-op patients. I was able to schedule an appt to meet with my surgeon a week later. At that appt I was set up for pre-op testing and the req classes my insurance has for WLS. The insurance will play a factor too.

write down questions before and write down answers at seminar for later when you get a one on one with surgeon.

good luck!

Insurance usually requires 3-6 months of supervised weight loss. Mine is only 3. I went to my informational seminar mid February a week and a half later met with my surgeon on that visit we went over all questions and laid out the plan and scheduled my next 3 appointments exactly 1 month apart to the day I had my second apointment last Thursday from there I have 2 more last one mid may and then they can then submit everything to my insurance for approval. The insurance has 2 weeks to approve or deny coverage. So hopefully I'll have a surgery date scheduled for early to mid june. I know it seems like an eternity but the time flies by especially with all u have to get done for your insurance to approve it I fell like I'm constantly going to appointments, group meetings ect in preperation and the closer I get the more nervous I feel like there's still so much to be done. The 3-6 months will fly by just stick to your program and focus on your WL goals and your lifestyle changes! Good luck hope I was able to give you some sort of time frame knowledge! Lol
