February 20, 201610 yr Any Kaiser NW members out there who have had surgery (or planning to) At Kaiser Sunnyside. I would love to hear more about the process. I've been accepted to the program but no surgery date yet....just working through the required steps.
February 21, 201610 yr Me! I'm going through the steps also! I will soon be going to the 1 hour appointments with nutritionist and social worker! Not sure what step that is. I finished mastering weight management class back in December. And orientation in Jan. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
February 21, 201610 yr Author I have my orientation scheduled during spring break.....so I am right behind you. Have you been given any insight yet as to what the timeframe for surgery is expected to be from when you attended orientation? Be sure to check in and let me know how your upcoming appointments go!
February 21, 201610 yr I believe it goes 1hr appts then a check back with them a month or two later then appt to meet surgeon, then surgery date. But that depends if you meet all requirements. Not sure what those are until I go. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
February 21, 201610 yr Author Yes! I do have the list with all the steps, and that sounds correct. I was more curious about how long it would be in between appointments. I'm up to date on all my general health things, and have been on a CPAP for ages so I didn't have to wait for the sleep study. I imagine it will come down to what the nutritionist and psych want to see from each person before moving on to the next step. Its been difficult to find information on Kaiser NW on any forums, largely the information I am finding is for California and their process looks very different. Good luck to you Bubbles80, let's stay in touch!
February 21, 201610 yr The in between is about 1-2 months I hear. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
March 3, 201610 yr Author Have you had your appt with the nutritionist yet? Hope your process is going well.
March 3, 201610 yr I'm with Kaiser South Sacramento, I started at the end of December, started my diet Jan 1, and had my surgery March 1st. I went to all the classes and appointments they required. The time went by pretty fast once I got into the swing of things. Good luck.
March 4, 201610 yr Yes had my one hour appt with Nut and the one hour with social worker on feb 22! All went well. Now I'm scheduled for a follow up appt with them both on April 27th. I haven't lost weight but people asked me if I have. I'm like no! But maybe it's inches or something. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
