Busted Eye Blood Vessel

I was banded on 7/25 and e'thing went very well. But post-op, I discovered a blood vessel that burst in my right eye. I called the nurse and then she called anesthesia. A nurse anesthetist came up to look at me. He thinks it may have come from the change in blood pressure from the anesthesia.

Anyone else have this problem? And if so, how long did it take for it to go away? Mine is pretty big and very, very obvious. My vision isn't affected, but it looks horrible. Sometimes I feel a bit of pressure on that side of my head/eye and a slight headache. If it doesn't clear up soon, I'm gonna call my doc again about it. (He's already aware and said that it's normal.)

I had something like this a while ago. It took about two weeks to clear up, but there was nothing to be done about it in the meantime. Wear sunglasses. ;)

Congratulations on your banding! :biggrin1:

I know. My doc said the body should absorb the blood and it'll go away. Sunglasses it will be until then!

Thanks!
