Time for Liquid Diet and SCARED... HELP!!!

Ok so I am just over two weeks away and supposed to start full liquids tomorrow. I have started protein shakes but keep finding myself saying well elt me get rid of all the cravings, or one last "real" meal. SO tonight is it... I am so scared that I won't stick to it. I have been trying to get rid of the temptations in the house... I want to succeed. Has anyone else freaked out with starting the pre-op liquid diet??

:help::cry:wacko::heh:

Since I only got approved on Friday, I'm not gonna have 10 days to be on it....but after 4, I can tell you I'm already BORED with it! Not enough options that are savory rather than sweet.

I'm using the Atkins Advantage in Creamy Vanilla and the Slim-Fast Low Carb Diet in Creamy chocolate. Both are reasonably palatable. But when I blend them with some crushed ice and put in about half a cup of low-fat vanilla or strawberry yogurt, they are much easier to tolerate.

Alas, I won't be able to say I did it cheat free...I had a noodle of my husband's plate of fettucini on Saturday. On Sunday I thawed some gumbo I made last week and strained some of the broth to eat == I caved and ate a shrimp.

<sigh>

I will be looking for more and more choices for AFTER surgery!

I had hernia surgery last summer and have been praying all year to not gain enough to ruin it -- which is always a possibility when you're obese!

Well, I'm happy to say that I am 8lbs lighter than I was last Tues. morning! However, I'm almost not eating since I really can't stand another slim fast! I hate to waste what I've already bought though so I'm trying to get them down the best I can.

Sorry to hear about the hernia Stacie, I hope they work it out and you don't have to do this again! That would be terrible. Good luck, let us know what you find out.

I don't think the hernia is a bad thing, I think its gonna make my insurance cover the Lap Band since obesity is number one cause of hernia (hiatel) and they can fix it when they do lap band... it might mean another liquid diet but that is just more weight lost right? At least I hope so.

I am liking your ideas on the shakes... I have hit a point where I only like the chocolate whey Protein poweder with non fat milk and half a banana. ALl of it turns me off so now i am taking in less shakes though too... not sure if thats good or bad! Anyone know?
