I got approved through my insurance and I have my consult with the surgeon Wednesday. What time frame is everyone seeing from now until the surgery is scheduled? Does it depend on the surgeon?

Congratulations! So happy for you.

After I got approved it took me about a month to see my doctor. I consulted with him which then he put me on a two week diet. This involved me eating 2 meals (Protein and veggies) and two Protein shakes. After that two week period I had my surgery the very next day.

Some people have had to go on the pre-op diet for a month, 2 weeks, or even 2 days.

I think it depends on the surgeon. Mine said since many people try to get their surgery in before the end of the year, he opens his schedule up to accommodate.

I was approved a couple weeks ago, and met with my surgeon last week - got my surgery date during my consult with him. I purposely chose the last week of the year, but bet I could have had mine scheduled before Thanksgiving. Mine doesn't require a long preop liquid diet - just one day.
