December 29th!

I paid my deposit, bought the plane tickets, have the cash saved for the surgery, and I'm all set. Except I am bouncing back and forth between excitement and terror. I've been researching this for a year. I feel comfortable with the surgeon I picked. I am going to Mexcio for monetary reasons, lack of insurance, and the really good reviews! I've struggled with my weight for almost 20 years!!!! I want, more than anything, for my life to not be consumed by food. I want to eat a few bites of protein and veggies, be full, and go about my life.

I also want to talk about this 24/7. I know I'm obsessed, but the more I read, the better I feel. Hearing other people's stories give me insight on what to do, and what not do. Before and after pics are so inspirational.

But if anyone wants to talk about their upcoming surgery, a lot ????, please message me!

Thank you! How are you feeling?

Congrats on your surgery date! Obsessing over the surgery, especially this close to the day is perfectly normal. ????. Best of luck to you!

Sounds like you'll be set for a new year and a new you, plus all the holiday stuff will be over by the time it's done and the stores will be full of nothing but magazines with how to get rid of the Christmas weight, so you won't have that working against you.

Oh! Maybe get a cheap outfit in a smaller size during the sales as a mini-goal?

You've made a great decision, and your reasons align very closely with mine. I thought about food during school, work, the movies, going to bed at night, and even if I never lost a single pound, that would provide reason enough to go ahead with it IMHO. You are also very disciplined to have chosen the date you have chosen...that means pre-op Thanksgiving to Christmas and a very tough New Year's Day. It is so worth it though.

Im doing good! Just trying to figure out how to eat slower that's all!

I am practicing eating slower right now! I have a job that requires me to eat me very quickly, or not at all, so of course I eat like an inmate! How is the no liquid with meals, and the 30 mins before, and after? I drink so much water all the time I'm afraid I'm going to have cotton mouth all the time.

Wow you've lost so much! Congrats! I cannot wait to see a 1 on the scale, instead of a 2. I picked the date because it's easy for me to get off work (the other time would be summer) and I decided I wanted to start 2016 in the most amazing way possible. According to my doc, pre-op info, and my BMI, I get to enjoy thanksgiving dinner. Christmas and news years are definitely out, of course, but I could not care less. I may feel cranky on Cristmas day with clear liquids but it's such a small price to pay. I am already making healthier choices. I'm down to one soda a day which was my vice after I quit smoking. I'm making healthier choices for meals and eating less. It wasn't intentional but I just started making different choices. I'm so happy I decided to do this. I cannot wait to be consumed by living instead of thoughts of food and dieting. Thanks for writing back!

Holy goodness you've lost almost 80 lbs in 4 months?! That's fantastic! Thanks for the good wishes!

Yeah that whole no liquid thing is hard for me too... I be really timing myself like can I drink yet! You have to take 30 mins to eat a small amount I have to get use to that for real!!
