Cigna insurance

I'm roughly four months into my process and my insurance is switching to Cigna. I have just about all my pre-op testing done and spoke with my doctors office and they said they might be able to submit me next month. Apparently, Cigna sometimes only has a 3 month weight? I'm curious if anyone else has Cigna insurance? What was your out of pocket cost of what Cigna didn't cover? And anything about the wait time/approval for surgery?

Lots of people here have Cigna - including me. Not all of their plans cover WLS. It will depend on the plan. If your plan does cover WLS, then yes, they have a 3 month supervised diet - 4 visits (the 1st visit starts the first month). Visits 28-30 days apart. Also requires a letter of recommendation from a doctor other than your WLS surgeon. There is a link to their requirements but I cannot get it to paste here for some reason. I will find it and post it in a few minutes.

Double check that all Drs and all Anesthesiologist are in your network, I didn't know that I had three Anesthesiologist in surgery, the main one, a nurse Anesthesiologist and one to give me a pain blocker. The last two were not in my network and Cigna refused to pay them. Not even at 50% for out of network providers. I have a $7000.00 dollar bill now.
