Is there any one who has fibromyalgia and had the surgery, how are your symptoms now?

I have fibromyalgia also. I'm scheduled for surgery in October. I've been told that losing the weight helps drastically with fibro. So I'm crossing fingers it helps.

I have fibromyalgia as well and am waiting on insurance approval. My dr has told me getting the weight off and therefore exercising more will help with pain but it will never go away. My mom had a gastric bypass and has fibromyalgia and she is only 105 lbs and pain still there.

I have fibromyalgia as well my surgery won't be until December, I don't think surgery will stop the pain because it's nerve pain.

I have CFS/ME & Fibro. Diagnosed 2 years ago. Each of my doctors informed me this procedure would no cure it, only to help alleviate because I'd have less weight on the muscles

Thanks everyone I figured the symptoms would not go away totally but hoping less pain and maybe less medication.
