If like my doctor they have a wonderful staff that will answer any questions you forget over the phone

Ask about how they handle complications that might arise dying surgery. Or what the recovery process is like. Inquire about suggestions for handling the anxiety of the surgery, or ask what FAQ other patients have had. An open dialog can be created. Plus if you have a case manager you can ask them too.

We have a caseworker and she is so helpful & the insurance specialist is awesome...she will give you step by step instructions. I had already made a chart of the diets I had done over last 5 years she said that helps her fight with insurance.
