No pre-op diet?

Hi all!

I got my surgery (sleeve) date this week (Aug 17th ) and my surgeon didn't tell me I had to do any kind of pre -Op diet.

Does that make sense?

I thought I was going to have to do 2 weeks of shakes.

I would definitely call your coordinator and check. I think most surgeons do a pre-op diet of some sort though I have seen a small number that don't. I know the biggest reason my surgeon requires it in all patients is because they want to shrink your liver thus making your surgery easier for the surgeon makes your recovery time faster and reduces your risk of complications.

Maybe they just haven't told you yet because they didn't want you to have to worry about it yet? Do you have a NUT? I would ask them.
