Nanny for a 6 month old

Recommended Posts

So I have my surgery date set (July 7th!) but I am a nanny for my 6 month old niece - how long am I not allowed to hold her?

I'm 22 and active (if that helps at all?) - I know this is major abdominal surgery but I love taking care of her and don't want to leave her parents in that predicament

You should check with your surgeon for his or her lifting restrictions. They all vary a bit but it's important to follow YOUR doctor's orders.

How long do you plan to take off work after surgery?

A lot of people take two weeks off from work post-op.

You are about to have major surgery. It means you need to take care of YOURSELF first.

If you're like most folks you aren't going to feel too whippy. How people feel the first week or two post-op varies a lot. A LOT!

I'm a nanny also. My surgeon told me don't lift anything over 7lbs for a month. The kids I watch are 2 1/2 and 5. It's difficult sometime bc I forget. I'm almost 2 weeks out.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
